Dailies
I have been freelancing with Company 3 as a Dailies Colorist since 2021. While there I have proven a valuable teammate with a reputation of efficiency, accuracy, and technical prowess. I love working alongside productions and their post teams. The challenge of late night work is always there, but the work is fulfilling and can lead to many incredible adventures!

Softwares
My experience is working in the Colorfront softwares, utilizing both EXD and OSD for my work. Outside of that I have processed dailies in Davinci Resolve and done proxy workflows in Adobe Premiere.
I have experience in remote grading with both Colorfront and ClearView streamers.
I am fully capable of both Avid and Premiere syncing workflows.
What Are Dailies?
Dailies is the post-wrap processing of a shoot day’s media. Often in a facility “near-set”, all the days media – from camera original, to audio, to reports – are offloaded onto a server where a Dailies Technician will sync the audio with the picture and ‘tag’ each clip with the slate ID’s (Such as Scene 1, Take 2). Meanwhile, a Dailies Colorist is communicating with the Director of Photography and Digital Imaging Technician to understand the vision for the day’s media, doing a first pass color grade based on those instructions.
After the footage is tagged, sunk, and graded, the media is rendered into proxy formats such as H264 for web viewing and DNxHD 36 for the Editor’s to start editing. Once complete, the day’s footage is usually archived to either an LTO (High-Density Tape storage) or the Cloud.
Traditionally, Dailies are processed overnight for the editors and production to have access to yesterday’s media when they wake up.
Once the edit is locked, the editors will hand over an EDL of the edit with all of the proxy file names, and those will be relinked back to the original footage for the Onlining process.
